2-PIN CRANK HUB FOR BMW 1, 2, 3, 4 Series, M2 N55 – INSANE PERFORMANCE UPGRADE
A common issue with the N55 is crank hub failure/slip due to the OE design of using a central bolt & friction to keep the engine in time. Both when tuned and stock usually during downchanges due to the torque load against the crankshaft the OE hub can slip and cause timing misalignment which can result in engine limp mode/lack of power and or bent inlet/exhaust valves.
Insane Performance's crank hub is offered in a 2-pin and upgraded 4-pin design for those looking to push their S55/N55s to the limits while having greater peace of mind. Please keep in mind neither version has had a known failure with 1200+ vehicles on the road today and counting. Insane Performance's 2-pin crank hub has also been tested up to 1000+ WHP without issue.
