The HEL Performance range of sealing washers are manufactured from high-quality materials and are typically used in conjunction with automotive braking, fuel and oil systems. The crush design of these washers enables them to create a tight and effective seal between the face of each mating component, ensuring fluid containment.

These copper washers are supplied as standard practice with any banjo fitting that come pre-installed to any of our braided brake and clutch line kits. We highly recommend replacing any copper crush washers whenever you have removed a fitting or line, ensuring a safe and secure seal.

Aluminium crush washers are commonly used in automotive applications for sealing most fluid connections, such as oil lines, fuel lines and oil drain plugs. They are lightweight and work well for preventing fluid leaks. Aluminium has great corrosion resistance, but it may not be as suitable as copper in highly corrosive environments. We recommend the use of these washers in conjunction with metric threads located in components throughout an oil system.

Copper crush washers are commonly used in components exposed to highly corrosive chemicals and extreme temperatures. Copper features excellent heat conductivity and malleability, enabling the washer to form a tight and secure seal including any uneven surfaces or slightly damaged mating surfaces. Its resistance to various chemicals makes copper the optimal choice for applications where corrosion is a major concern.

Bonded dowty seals are often preferred over crush washers in certain applications due to several advantages they can offer such as improved sealing performance, reduced rate of leaks or failure, a longer life span compared to crush washers and most importantly, shock and vibration resistance. The design of our bonded dowty seals include an internal bonded rubber seal that helps absorb shocks and vibrations, preventing the seal from loosening or failing prematurely. While bonded dowty seals offer numerous advantages, it's important to note that their selection depends on the specific requirements of the application. Crush washers may still be suitable for certain low-pressure or low-demand applications, and cost considerations may also play a role in the choice between the two sealing methods.
